I'm making this topic out of sheer boredom, but that doesn't mean I want it to stray off-topic.
So assuming we all know and understand the principles of Communism, what is your personal view? If Russia was to invade Australia, with the purpose of making us a communist nation under Russian rule, would you support it? do you believe that it can be made to work in a western civilization that has known Democracy + Capitalism all of its life? I mean, we have established a society where the average "Aussie Battler" is constantly cursing things such as petrol prices and interest rates, while our own prime minister has taxpayers pay the salary of his own manservant! We will always be battling against these things, and in a Capitalist society classes and situations such as the above cannot be avoided.
So In my opinion, communism cannot really be introduced successfully into a western society such as ours that is accustomed to this treatment.
I love the principles of Communism, but if Russia was to invade, I would be the first to put my hand up to fight. Why? Because Australia is my homeland, and she supports me adequately and provides my family, my friends and myself with the tools we need to survive.
So my friends, what is your opinion? Would you support the commies taking over our country or would you protect Australia and its ideals? Why?
Do you think that Communism can be made to work here in Australia? If so, how?
How do you feel about communism, e.g. how much you support it and why..
